Train Wreck

Our economy is a train wreck. George W. Bush has been the engineer. We have a gigantic national debt; an enormous budget deficit; a huge trade deficit; a sliding dollar; and we continue to spend $10 billion dollars a month in Iraq! The foreclosure crisis shows no signs of abatement. The gap between the wealthy few and the rest of us continues to grow. Gasoline prices are sky high, with no end in sight. Food prices and other consumer good prices are rocketing upward. Health care costs and drug costs keep going up, up, up. Personal debt on credit cards is at an all-time high; as are bankruptcies. Millions can't afford their car payments. The oil companies, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies are feeding at the trough. The rest of us are "eating cake." China, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia own us. If they called in the debt bonds that we have sold them, we would sink like a rock. The fat cat corporations have totally ignored the fact that it is the Middle Class that runs the engine of our economy. These corporate monsters have been allowed to have offshore accounts, tax loopholes galore, and corporate welfare, plus exhorbitantly paid executives. Meanwhile, those who could buy goods and services are strapped. Jobs are being lost by the thousands. The current crop of candidates want to demonize China. But, the fact is that the majority of Americans couldnt buy diddly squat without the cheap prices that China affords us through its imports. Bush has catered to his wealthy compadres. He and his Congressional flunkies have ignored the average citizen. Lobbyists and corporate special interests run the show. Our elected "representatives" might as well set up kiosks in the halls of Congress and sell votes to the highest bidder. McCain wants to give us 4 more years of this mess. He wants to make tax cuts to the wealthy permanent. Heaven knows, they need more mansions, more yachts, more jets, more designer clothes for the Trophy Wife. 47 million Americans may not have health care; but the Fat Cats will get fatter. We cannot afford 4 more years of corrupt, avaricious, incompetence in the White House. If McCain thinks he can continue to spend $10 billion a month in Iraq for 100 years, he needs to think again. At the rate the economy is failing, he wont be able to buy a can of spam, much less keep fighting 2 wars.
